Emma Sofy loves food and she loves to cook. You can see it in her face when her kind eyes light up as she tells you about her passion for food and her overwhelmingly popular restaurant, Emma’s on Liberty. First setting up shop in 1970 as a local corner store, the family business did a roaring trade in milk, eggs and bread but there were bigger things in store. Around 16 years ago Emma began to spend her afternoons at the shop preparing dinner for her family and packaging up the excess dishes which were quickly snapped up by hungry locals looking for an escape from cooking. Word spread about the amazing food and Emma and her son Anthony soon found themselves running a buzzing eatery.

The cosy dining room is dominated by a big communal table which is often packed elbow to elbow with happy groups feasting upon the fresh and flavoursome Lebanese cuisine that Emma and Anthony take such pride in preparing. Emma declares Anthony the creative force behind the menu, which is ideally enjoyed as a banquet to ensure you get a taste of it all. The Moorish chicken carries quite a reputation; marinated in tangy spices and flame-grilled before being wrapped in Lebanese bread, grilled again and garnished with shaved red onion, this is a must-try. Similarly, the Ladies Fingers, stuffed with spiced lamb mince, pine nuts and pomegranate molasses are melt-in-your-mouth parcels of goodness while desserts of baklava and dates stuffed with walnuts are as revered as the rest of the menu. Just make sure you book ahead and take along your favourite bottle of wine, as Emma’s is BYO.

Proprietors Marcelle and Michael Khawam bought the restaurant when they first arrived in Australia from Lebanon thirty years ago, and they have operated the family firm at the same address all that time - and their son Tony, now a qualified chef, has grown up in the business.

ARAX is named after a river in Michael's native Armenia and now provides an extensive menu of Fine Lebanese Food in the spacious and comfortable Restaurant.

Michael and Tony's cooking skills and Marcelle's courteous and efficient management have won ARAX the North Shore Business Award for 2006 - but even more important - they have won the hearts and loyalty of an ever-increasing clientele on the North Shore and across Sydney.

The friendly and welcoming atmosphere in the restaurant is maintained six nights a week, and Saturday entertainment includes a captivating and very talented traditional Belly Dancer who thrills the audience and invites participation from any brave patrons..!

Arabella’s might not be the place for a quiet and romantic dinner for two, but if it’s a feast of biblical proportions and equal amounts of fun you’re after, this has got to be the spot. And the best seat in the house, without a doubt, has to be the plush cushioned corner at the back of the modern and sleek restaurant.

With 15 years experience in kitchens from Beirut and Dubai, Our chefs has got the goods when it comes to dishing up modern Lebanese cuisine. Almustafa's Restaurant was established by Ian and Salwa in 1996, to create a relaxed, casual and friendly dining experience where everyone can feel at home; good quality food with no attitude.
Ian and Salwa started in the restaurant industry as a hobby, they had no experience, but with their relaxed but serious approach to their new careers, it soon became a much bigger venture. Word of mouth spread that Salwa's food was delicious. After operating the small Almustafa at Surry Hills for seven years, it was time to look for a bigger premises, which they could give their personal style. They found the right location and now have a beautifully presented Dining Room and Arabian Cushion Room in Glebe Point Road, Glebe. Ian and Salwa believe that as long as they continue to provide consistency in the taste of their food and good service along with a happy and comfortable enviroment they can hope to achieve continued success.

Almustafa has developed a great reputation in Lebanese Cuisine and is well known for its food; relaxed and fun atmosphere. Just read the many reviews over the past eight years.
